Teacher overview

I have been a professional musician and Peripatetic teacher for 22 years. I studied Double Bass and Piano at London College Of Music, and have worked professionally on both instruments. In 2006/07 I recorded an album with producer Trevor Horn called ‘Set The Mood’ (ZTT Records) featuring the track ‘Sun goes down’ which reached No 4 in the UK charts. In 2012 I worked with US Comedienne Joan Rivers as Musical Director for her UK shows. My professional playing experience is primarily in Theatre and touring. Most recently I have worked with the following shows and artists: London Community Gospel Choir (Songs of Sister Act) Calendar girls UK Tour Motown The Musical UK Tour Queen Of The Night Viola Wills Rose Royce Clem Curtis Lemar Kenny Thomas In 2014 I gained a DipHe in Music For The Media. This is a course for composers who wish to learn how to implement their compositions in a wide range of modern media applications. I can help with GCSE and A-Level Music performance and Music Theory, Higher Education Exam and audition Preparation. I also teach mature students who wish to reach the next level of playing. I can help with Sight reading, technique, musicianship and repetoire. Although my professional experience is primarily theatre and pit work, I have experience in group lessons specialising in teaching harmony, theory and technique. I realise the importance of teaching at a pace that suits the student. I enjoy the performance aspect, but my main passion and focus is on teaching. I get a real buzz from seeing students get to the next stage of their playing, and hopefully inspire them to continue with music for life.

Started teaching in October 2013.
